The 30th Annual Vancouver International Film Festival will open its doors from Sept. 29 to Oct. 14, 2011, hosting one of the largest film festivals in all of North America.
There are many films from all around the world and many different cultures, however this year the VIFF will showcase the Basque film “AITA” (Father). It has been critiqued by some as being “too contemplative” butelogied by others as being “visually creative”. Aita will impact the viewer. For us living far from the Basque Country, it’s an opportunity to watch award winning films from our homeland on the big screen and share our culture with others.
The VIFC (Vancouver International Film Centre) is opened all year round. Here is a list of other movies in relation to Basque film makers, actors & culture being showcased in Vancouver.
Go to the VIFF or Karma Films for more information about the film.
